From Salesforce to forward deployed engineering

Forward deployed engineering is my longer-term career direction. My immediate focus is a Salesforce Administrator or CRM support opportunity where I can contribute, learn from an experienced team and build evidence of delivery.
Customer service taught me to listen before proposing a solution. In technology, that means understanding the person using the system, the work they need to finish and what happens when a process fails. My technical portfolio is self-directed and includes simulated projects; it is not a record of paid client delivery.
What is a forward deployed engineer?
A forward deployed engineer works closely with customers to turn operational problems into working software. The role varies by employer, but commonly combines discovery, integration, implementation and support. Understanding the customer matters alongside writing and testing code.
How Salesforce practice supports that direction
Salesforce practice gives me a way to explore data quality, access and workflow decisions in a concrete business scenario. My SunRise Solar project uses a fictional business, and the repository documents its current status. The User Lifecycle SOP explores provisioning and access checks in a training environment.
These projects are starting points for discussing decisions. A hiring manager should be able to inspect the evidence, ask what I understand independently and distinguish my work from AI-assisted implementation.
What I need to demonstrate next
My next evidence should include a small API integration, clear error handling, a repeatable check and a handover note. These are learning goals, not skills I am claiming to have already demonstrated. I will publish the repository and actual results when the work exists.
For each exercise I want to answer four questions: whose problem is this, what did I build, how did I check it, and what remains incomplete? That is more useful than describing every experiment as production ready.
What opportunities am I looking for?
I am interested in Salesforce administration and CRM support opportunities, including employment and suitable contracts. Forward deployed engineering remains the direction I am building towards. My résumé and project pages show the current evidence so employers can assess the fit.
